Company highlights
- Wits Gold holds title to NI 43-101 compliant total inferred resources of 151.7 Moz of gold and 267.8 Mlbs of U3O8. This includes 19.9 Moz of indicated resources and 5.4 Moz of P&P reserves at Bloemhoek.
- Recently completed Independent pre-feasibility study at Bloemhoek has indicated that mining is both technically and economically viable at this project, located in the southern Free State goldfield.
- Revised resource estimate being finalized at De Bron, situated adjacent to Bloemhoek, where the reef package occurs at 500-1200 metres below surface.
- New order prospecting rights for uranium granted in the Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp goldfields. Independent NI43-101 compliant inferred resources of 163.3 Mlbs U3O8 have been estimated over these prospecting rights.
- Acquired historic exploration data from AngloGold Ashanti in the Beisa North area. Independent NI43-101 compliant resources estimated to contain 47.8 Mlbs U3O8 and 1.5 Moz gold at Beisa North.
- Annual expenditure in FY09 of R55 million (US$5.4 million) of which R39 million (US$ 3.8 million) or 71 % was devoted to exploration.
- Cash resources of R94 million (US$ 12.5m) as at 30 December 2009 – sufficient for 3 years. No debt.
